Fall Wedding Dress – Fashion Design

For my own wedding, I wanted something to match the season and incorporate the 50’s silhouette that I adore. I chose a rust colored silk dupioni for the bodice and a lovely embroidered bronze taffeta for the pleated skirt I modified a retro Butterick pattern for the bodice by dropping the waist and giving the back a cutout that complimented the styling in the front of the dress. For the skirt, I simply picked a tea-length hemline and created large pleats. I made my husband a green silk dupioni vest to coordinate.
